James Armitage, MPAS, PA-C
Family Medicine Physician Assistant
James Armitage, MPAS, PA-C, is a professional physician assistant at South Texas Family Medicine And Urgent Care Center in San Antonio, Texas. A retired Navy veteran, he has over 15 years of experience providing exceptional care to patients and offering medical treatment to military personnel overseas.
He began his education at the University of Maryland University College at the overseas campus in Okinawa, Japan. While achieving his Bachelor of Science, he served in the Navy as a fleet marine force hospital corpsman for eight years.
Shortly after, he went on to complete the interservice physician assistant program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. James then received his Master of Science in physician assistant studies in San Diego, California.
James returned to Okinawa, Japan, as a certified physician assistant at Naval Hospital Okinawa for several years. He worked as a primary care manager for 1,100 patients in a family practice clinic, before being deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
In addition, he practiced as a battalion surgeon for the 3rd Medical Battalion in Okinawa, Japan. He continued to dedicate his services as the senior medical officer for the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. James later took the opportunity to train prospective physician assistants at the Surface Warfare Medical Institute in San Diego, California.
He has since planted his roots in Texas, working at South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilly, Texas. James now proudly serves patients at South Texas Family Medicine And Urgent Care, where he enjoys getting to know new patients and working alongside the team.

Kyle Burditt, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Kyle Burditt, PA-C, is a military and civilian physician assistant at South Texas Family Medicine And Urgent Care in San Antonio, Texas, with over 15 years of experience as a health care professional. He is a highly esteemed Navy veteran with combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan
Kyle received his Master of Science in physician assistant studies through the interservice physician assistant program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. While he achieved his degree, he also served as a hospital corpsman for the United States Navy.
He went on to work in acute care as a certified physician assistant. Kyle gained skills in administering care to patients of all ages and providing women’s health care. During that time, he was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he provided primary and emergency care to military personnel and locals.
Following his extensive military career, Kyle served as a professor at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. Returning to the military medical field, he provided care for the 3rd battalion, 8th marine regiment with over 800 personnel seeking aid.
Kyle has spent his recent career working for Quality Urgent Care, STGI, and Texas Medclinic. His family settled in San Antonio, Texas, where he enjoys working with his team at South Texas Family Medicine And Urgent Care Center and looks forward to connecting with patients.
Orlando Lopez, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Orlando Lopez, PA-C, Physician Assistant at South Texas Family Medicine And Urgent Care in San Antonio, Texas. He is a seasoned Physician Assistant bringing over 17 years of experience.
Highly analytical and organized with an observant, detail-oriented nature dedicated to optimal patient care. Orlando is a Navy veteran with over 33 years of service including multiple combat tours in The Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
He received his Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies through the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska in 2006. He went on to work in Navy Medicine as an NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant. Orlando worked in Primary Care for most of his time in the Navy, but also completed a fellowship in Dermatology and has extensive emergency medicine and trauma training which he put into practice on six ground combat deployments with Marine Corps, Army and Navy Special Forces. He also provided medical care to local villagers in various parts of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Orlando retired from the Navy in 2022 and decided to settle in San Antonio after having been stationed at Fort Sam earlier in his career and enjoying the San Antonio lifestyle. In early 2023 he joined the team at South Texas Family Medicine And Urgent Care Center and looks forward to making a positive impact on patients throughout Southern Texas.
